Join us half-day training to equip you to share Jesus with lost people you already know and love in a natural, relational way. Then we will walk alongside you as to provide support and accountability you may needs as you live out your calling.
Hi! My name is Rick and this is my wife Amy. For years, I felt inept and fearful when it came to sharing my faith with others. At the time I might say that I was afraid I would bumble with my words, get asked questions I couldn’t answer, or that I was just too busy. Now I realize it was something deeper. I didn’t understand how God’s power at work in me really works. I didn’t realize that I was called to be a witness to what I had seen and knew, not to what I didn’t know. I thought of evangelism as a Christian activity, rather than trusting that God is always working to draw people to Himself and He is continually inviting us into that process. So when I finally realized that everyone’s spiritual journey is a process and God is responsible for the results, I was able to trust God enough to freely enter into conversations with people about the big questions of God and life. And it’s been awesome!

This is an investment of your time. We’re all busy people and we can’t say yes to everything, so if you want to but you don’t feel like you can make the commitment right now, know that Jesus still loves you. Please know that if you do join me, I will do everything in my power to make it worth your while.
Secondly, Jesus’ game plan was to make disciples who make disciples. We hope you “go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” So it’s not really a six-hour commitment, it’s a lifetime.
“Relational Evangelism implements God’s plan for reaching the world through one-on-one relationships. The training has opened my eyes to how God has been working in my life for decades, waiting for me to actively engage. I am beginning with those He is bringing to me.”
“People need to be reminded of these principles, no matter where they are in their walk with Christ. I needed to be reminded that the results are up to God, not me. I’m role is to live out my faith.”
“Relational Evangelism Training has been revolutionary in my perspective of how God uses His people in the process of seeking the lost. This training is essential to those new in their faith and those who have followed Jesus for decades. I have been challenged to step out of my boxed life and join the Holy Spirit with his saving work in the world. And I have been equipped with simple and powerful tools to help me share Jesus with others.”
“Relational Evangelism Training was so much more about our walk with God than “converting people.” I learned so much about areas of growth in my relationship with God and support on how to focus on those areas. My world was rocked—I have been striving so much and am learning how to abide. That will be my focus!”
“Relational Evangelism Training helped me feel empowered. Talking with lost people about Jesus isn’t such a “big deal” and I don’t have to be a perfect Christian, just approachable and intentional about loving others and engaging with them about what matters most. These deeper conversations lead to Jesus organically because I love Him so much.”

9:00 AM Session One: I Can Do That!
Jesus said, “Go and make disciples.” Sometimes I wish that I could just rake my neighbor’s leaves and somehow they would realize that Jesus died on the cross for their sins. Yes, acts of kindness could be a part of sharing the Gospel, but at some point sharing the Good News of Jesus means we … talk about Jesus! But talking to people about Jesus sounds like “evangelism,” and if we’re honest, that word has a funky aftertaste in our culture. And for good reason. We as Christians have done a lot of damage and created a lot of weirdness for the rest of us by how we have gone about the task. What if we need to reframe what Jesus really meant by "go and make disciples"?
9:50 AM Session Two: Relational Evangelism
Jesus called his disciples to a mission: to fish for people. The last thing He said was to re-affirm that this was the mission: to go and make disciples. But this is uncommon language for us. What does 'making disciples' even mean? Inviting someone to church? Telling someone they're going to Hell? Passing out tracts?
10:50 AM Session Three: Where to Start
Jesus did not seem to struggle to obey the Father. He lived a perfect life, continually engaged in sharing the Good News of the Kingdom of God. Yet we struggle to share the Good News. What was Jesus' secret for living a fruitful, obedient, world-impacting life?
11:45 AM Lunch
Lunch is provided for free by Search KC for those who register. Search KC is funded 100% by donations from people who believe that every person in Greater Kansas City deserves an opportunity to know and share Jesus.
12:40 PM Session Four: Living as a Sent Person
Most American Christians think of evangelism as sales. But how does the Bible describe making disciples? What if we expected that God was sending us to someone who needs Him? What if every interaction was, potentially, a divine appointment? What if every encounter was a possible rescue mission on your deployment?
1:30 PM Session Five: The Gospel According to Jesus
What was Jesus' mission, according to Jesus? The phrase Kingdom of God/Heaven is used 85 times in the Gospels, but most of us struggle to define it. Perhaps we should clarify the message Jesus asked us to share.
2:15 PM Session Six: The Gospel Conversation
Spirituality is a process and God is responsible for the results. Success is living out your faith, being a witness, and trusting God for the results. Success is not leading someone to Christ. At some point, it is time for THE Gospel conversation (you know, the Romans 6:23 stuff). In this last session, we'll give you a free Bible for sharing your faith and teach you how to use it.
