What Even is Discipleship?
If you are a follower of Jesus, you know your primary endeavor in life is to make disciples.
- So what is your plan for making disciples?
- And secondly, is your plan working?
An issue in our culture is that many Christians have been churched, but few have been discipled. And how can we make disciples if we haven’t been discipled?
Discipleship is the intentional process of becoming like Christ by following Him in every aspect of life: Jesus frames it as a radical call to deny oneself, obey His teachings, and make more disciples (not just converts).
Discipleship is relational, reproducible patterns of life-on-life transformation that integrate belief and practice in everyday rhythms. It is apprenticing under Jesus to live in the reality of the Kingdom of God, where transformation of one's heart leads to outward obedience.
Many churchgoers merely believe in Jesus. A disciple of Jesus is someone who increasingly lives as He would live if He were in their place.
Ready to level up? Do you want to be a disciple of Jesus who makes disciples? We will meet for thirty weeks (a whole school year). We ask for a commitment; this is not a drop-in kind of thing. There will be homework. And we believe you'll be radically transformed by Jesus.
